About the Director

Nasir Malekijoo (b.1984) is an Iranian filmmaker and theater artist. He is an alumnus of Bauhaus University Weimar (class of ‘18), where he could practice video art installation. Malekijoo’s narrative films are associated with black irony, human trauma, melancholy, eroticism, mystery, and politics through the lens of sociopolitical anxieties in post-revolution Iran. Before drifting into filmmaking, Malekijoo professionally worked as a stage director, designer, writer, and actor between the years 2005 and 2020 in Tehran and international venues. Malekijoo holds a PhD from BGSU, (Ohio) Department of Theatre and Film.
